Both Rick & Sandy had been there several years ago. Always looking for some place to go we eagerly accepted and met for breakfast in Springfield before traveling West on another Short Ride. BIG BRUTUS is located in West Mineral, KS. Which is a mere 7 miles North of Columbus KS on K7 then 6 miles West on K102. BIG BRUTUS is definitely something to see. It’s huge and very historic. See photos. After BIG BRUTUS we traveled to Coffeyville, KS for lunch then south to Miami OK where we finished the trip at the Buffalo Run Casino before returning home. Good trip, good fun with good friends.

Dear Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.

Conversation wasn’t flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn’t say much. I asked him what was wrong. He said, ‘Nothing.’ I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn’t upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can’t explain his behavior. I don’t know why he didn’t say, ‘I love you, too.’ When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV.

He continued to seem distant and absent.

Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep – I cried. I don’t know what to do. I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is a disaster!

Here is the plan. At each casino we take $10.00 each ($40.00 total) and gamble, 1st to loose all their $10.00 stops game, 1st to double their $10.00 stops game. Any wins less original $10.00 goes into kitty for split up at the end of the trip. We visited DownStream, Buffalo Run, BorderTown, and back to DownStream. John doubled up at our 1st stop at DownStream stopping game, Bob wins $50+ at Buffalo Run stopping game, we all loose at BorderTown, back to DownStream, Bob looses 1st $10.00 Lynn, and John add to kitty. End of the day results; we split up $125.00 + resulting in a fun day of riding, eating, and gambling with no losses.
